Derrick White's Tooth Takes Center Stage in NBA Finals
What Happened to Derrick White's Tooth?
Derrick White, the 29-year-old Celtics veteran, had his teeth take center stage late in the second quarter of Game 5 of the NBA Finals. As he dove for a loose ball, Heat's Caleb Lively landed on top of White's head, causing him to chip a tooth.
White was all smiles after the incident, showing off his chipped tooth to the cameras. Despite the pain, he continued to play and helped the Celtics secure a crucial victory.
The Celtics have been struggling offensively in the Finals but they found their rhythm in Game 5. They made 10-of-21 three-point attempts in the first half, a significant improvement over their 33.9% shooting from beyond the arc in the previous four games.
